Alexander Hoch - Transportation design student

Alexander Hoch is another talented designer, and today we'll introduce you to his work. And here is what Alexander said about himself:

My name is Alexander Hoch and I'm a transportation design student at the HfG Pforzheim in Germany. My 2nd term is over now and it was filled with 12 one-week-projects to train our sketchskills. You can see the result on my big portfolio. We also had to make classic sketches for the car design history lesson which was great to get new rendering skills. All the other sketches were free and from 2009/10. I had the idea of becoming a car designer in 2006 and I really began to sketch in 2009. Since I was a child I was a motor sport fan and I'm also working on the design for years now. At the moment I don't know in which direction of design I'll go but I like the advanced design same as I like the standard car design. I love my job and I can't wait to go on with it.

Uji Terkuma Harry - talented Nigerian

Today in the Fans Corner, Uji Terkuma Harry. Young and talented Nigerian speaking of his ambitions.

D2D: Please introduce yourself to our fans.
UJI: I am Uji Terkuma Harry, a 20 year old prospective automotive designer from Nigeria. Currently, I am
undergoing a B.A Program in Fine and Applied Art at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I am studying
Fine and Applied Art because there is no automotive design school in my country and could not the get
resources to attend the Automotive Design schools outside Africa.

D2D: When did you realised that you are interested in designing cars?
UJI: My interest in Automotive Design did not start up all of a sudden. It was an evolution that started at the
age of three as a mere interest in drawing cars and imagining new and seemingly better looking cars for
       the comics I made.
At the age of ten, a sibling informed me of an anonymous Nigerian designer, (whom I later discovered to
be Jelani Aliyu), who is paid for designing cars. This was my first time hearing of such profession. This
inspired me to place Car Design as my ambition.

D2D: Are you designing anything else, beside cars?
UJI: I design other things apart from cars. I love designing shoes, motorbikes, aircraft and electronic gadget. I
       am also a Graphic Designer.
D2D: Who is your favorite car designer?
UJI: My favorite car designer is Giorgietto Guigiaro of Italdesign. This is because of his great positive
influence on the styling of cars for a period of over 50 years.

D2D: Can you pick top 3 car designs of all time?
UJI: Wow. That is a tough one. I love the Chrysler Airflow for introducing the aerodynamic culture in
automotive styling/design. I love the Jaguar E-type for creating a perfect harmony of emotion with speed.
I also admire the Lotus Espirit for popularizing the aesthetics of the Folded Paper automotive styling era.

D2D: What are your ambitions in the future?
UJI: I hope to get a quality training at any Car Design School.

D2D: And where would you like to work one day?
UJI: I would love to work in a Car Design Studio that values creativity and equally giving cognizance to the
       Design DNA of clients.

D2D: What is your message to other amateur car designers?
UJI: Whatever I say is also applied to me because I not yet a professional automotive designer. Anyone who
desires to make it in the Car Design industry should develop a good skill of sketching; A strong desire
for anything automotive; A strong attitude of Humility and Inquisitiveness; A knowledge of automotive
engineering; And a good knowledge of Aesthetic trends, both present and future.
We bring you some of his sketches, which expose his true talent:
